Cash on Delivery (COD) with Advance Payment Policy
At www.smatan.com, we offer our valued customers the convenience of Cash on Delivery (COD) as a payment option. To ensure a smoother and more secure COD experience, we have introduced a feature called “Advance Payment.” This feature allows customers to pay a 20% advance amount when placing a COD order, reducing the risk of fake or fraudulent orders and minimizing potential losses in logistics costs.
Cash on Delivery order charges
At www.smatan.com, we strive to offer convenient payment options to our customers, including Cash on Delivery (COD). We understand that many prefer this method for its simplicity and flexibility.
However, please note that our courier partners impose an additional fee for COD orders. To cover these charges and continue providing COD service, we kindly request a nominal COD Service Fee.
COD charges are as follows:-
For orders with a value less than or equal to ₹500: ₹20 COD charges.
For orders with a value greater than ₹1000: ₹50 COD charges.
These charges are necessary for us to continue providing COD service efficiently and reliably.
Example:
Let’s say you are placing an order of ₹1200. The calculation would be as follows:
Order Value (subtotal): ₹1200
COD charges: ₹50
Total Order Value: ₹1250
Total Amount to be Paid in Advance: 20% of ₹1250 which is ₹250
Remaining Amount to be Paid on Delivery: Total Order Value – Advance Payment = ₹1250 – ₹250 = ₹1000
Upon placing your order, you would pay an advance amount of ₹250 online. The courier will collect the remaining ₹1000 in cash upon delivery.

Advance Payment Terms:
If you choose to pay the advance amount, and the order has not yet been shipped, and you want to cancel it then the advance amount is fully refundable. Means, you will get your advance amount refund if the product is not yet shipped.
However, if the order has been shipped and you decide to cancel the order or reject the package upon delivery or you filled wrong shipping address at the time of placing order, then the advance amount is non-refundable.
Cancellations and Rejections:
Cancellation Before Shipment: If you cancel the order before it has been shipped, we will process a refund for the advance amount paid by you.
Cancellation After Shipment or Package Rejection: If you cancel the order or reject the package upon delivery after the order has been shipped, the advance amount is non-refundable. This policy is in place to cover our logistics and operational costs.
